Emmek Frewn
Physical Description
Emmek is a fairly tall man of medium build with a pale clammy complexion. Under his thin eyebrows, he has squinty jade green eyes and a flat nose. He has a square jaw and stained teeth. His straight greasy inky black hair hangs limply around his shoulders.

Emmek has several tattoos. On the left side of his neck, he has a dragon tattooed in black, anyone who has actually seen a dragon sees minor errors in the artwork. He has a dolphin tattooed on his right forearm with small spots of color and several errors in the design. He has a perfect sun tattooed on his left calf in full color.
Emmek tries to wear the latest fashions, however, he is not able to afford the finest clothes.
Mental characteristics
Emmek’s family migrated to Waterdeep from Neverwinter in 1351 DR. The family struggled to make ends meet by tanning leather in the Trades Ward. After Emmek’s parents died, his sisters took over the business and bought him out. He never liked the work anyway, and he particularly hated dealing with the League of Skinners and Tanners.
Emmek is on shaky financial footing because he has sunk most of his wealth into this latest endeavor. He’s also in trouble with two of the guilds. First, he tried to save coin by fixing the roof himself, in defiance of the Carpenters’, Roofers’, and Plaisterers’ Guild. Then he offended a member of the Cellarers’ and Plumbers’ Guild by comparing the dwarf’s beard to barnacles on a ship.
Emmek was given basic education at home. He was an apprentice in the League of Skinners & Tanners. However, he hated the blood and smell involved and left the family business to his sisters and self-taught himself (poorly) to be an tavernkeeper.
Emmek owns and operates the tavern called Frewn's Brews on the east end of Trollskull Alley.
Personality Characteristics
Emmek wants his pub to be the most successful tavern in the North Ward, and he wants the characters’ business to fail spectacularly.

Emmek is very condescending to most people unless he recognizes them as of superior class to himself, then he fawns over them.
Emmek is stingy when it comes to certain kinds of expenses and foolish with his coin in other ways. He tends to spend a lot on big, showy items and cut corners on the little amenities. Because he doesn’t have much coin to throw around right now, his plan to ruin the characters’ establishment begins with borrowing some money.
