The Brotherhood of the Talon
The Brotherhood of the Talon is a small and secretive organization operating out of Waterdeep.
The organizations main objective is to enact the will of the bird god Ecat . Ecat speaks in dreams directly and only to the leader of the organization, an Aasimar known as Brother Owl.
Headquarters
The Brotherhood operates out of a hidden underground warehouse. Brother Owl has access to a great deal of wealth and owns an abandoned pyrotechnics shop in the Dock Ward district of Waterdeep. The basement was originally just a storage space for fireworks and was reinforced and waterproofed so that in the case of an accident the shop above and the surrounding buildings would be unharmed and the fireworks would stay dry. Brother Owl bought the building shortly after it was shut down, but left it abandoned as he only cared about the basement. The basement now serves as a meeting place for the Brotherhood and nobody ever bothers them as the abandoned shop appears dangerous and highly unstable. There is a sewer entrance straight into the basement that is often the main point of entry for the Talons to avoid being seen entering the shop.Masks
The masks the members of the Brotherhood wear are all modeled after different birds. There are 12 in total. Not all masks are in use at one time if a member dies and a replacement has not been found. The masks are as follows:- Owl

Structure
Ecat - A minor bird deity. The leader of the Brotherhood receives visions from the bird god and translates them into the guilds next assignment.
Brother Owl - The leader of the Brotherhood. Most if not all members of the guild believe in his guidance and carry out the assignments he puts forth from Ecat.
Talons - below the leader, all are equal in the guild. Some may be far more powerful than others, but there are no further ranks. The members of the Brotherhood are referred to as Talons, they are all given a code name and a mask upon initiation and most do not know the identities of each other.

Culture
The Brotherhood stays in the shadows and is highly secretive by nature. There are very few who actually know the guild well, however other large guilds or influential people are aware of their activities and their tendency to appear to take care of a target and then disappear shortly after.
No member of the Brotherhood has ever been caught, and the ones who have been confronted have been released. They serve only the one purpose when assigned a task and disregard all other circumstances surrounding it be it political, moral, or otherwise.
Assets
Docks - The brotherhood has a small ferry on a private dock in the port of Waterdeep. The boat is looked after and driven by Captain Hik, a half-orc who works loosely for the brotherhood. He's available for them whenever needed and can take the members to wherever they need to go up and down the adventure coast.
History
The Brotherhood has been around for hundreds of years. Every time a leader dies or ceases their devotion to the guild, a new leader is chosen by Ecat. The leader is in charge of deciding the headquarters and maintaining the secrecy of the organization.
Prior to the current Brother Owl's position as leader, there was a fight within the guild as to who should become the leader after the previous leader had died. Three of the members were killed during this and the victor of the fight thought himself worthy of claiming the title and receiving the visions from Ecat, but Ecat chose a new recruit. The recruit stayed silent and watched as the fight unfolded, he had true devotion to Ecat and thought little of those that fought over the title as if they had a choice. He claimed his role as leader and the victor shortly after took his leave from the guild, upset at Ecat's decision. Knowing too much, he became the next target and was killed the following day.
