Session 25 Summary

General Summary

We rejoined our intrepid adventurers mid-battle with the apprentice necromancer, Zur, and his seemingly endless supply of skeletal minions. Each time the party members strayed from the path, a new skeleton would emerge. This generally restricted them to ranged attacks while Zur slung spells at them from relative safety. At times restrained by webs, sickened with poison, and repeatedly (and hilariously) inflicted with persistent blindness, they found themselves low on health and running low on options. But through dogged perseverance and some key bardic inspiration, they slowly closed the distance with their four-smelling target, chipping away at this health until finally, Lunchmoney was \able to stumbled over a wall and land a devastating smite on the frail wizard, crushing his torso and sending the remaining skeletons back to their eternal slumber.

As the party took a breather and shook off their conditions, the newly-sighted Lunchmoney spied movement off toward the west. As his companions looted the necromancer’s body, retrieving a Scroll of Animate Dead, 87 gold coins and a generously-sized ruby worth 300 gold, Lunch tracked down a figure at the entrance to a mausoleum. The figure appeared to bend over into the entrance of the crypt, before straightening and closing the door. As soon as it detected Lunchmoney’s presence, however, the figure fled off and out of the graveyard, leaving the tired and wounded Lunchmoney behind.

Returning to his companions, the party collected the necromancer’s body, conveying it to the presence of the now-recovered Sir Ambrose Everdawn, who expressed his gratitude for their assistance and told them he owed them a boon that they could call in at a later date.

Following their strenuous encounter, the party retreated to Trollskull Manor for a good night’s rest. In the morning, they revisited Blackstaff Tower to collect their reward and another satisfying serving of Vajra Safahr's excellent tea.

We wrapped up as the party was headed to reconnect with Gaxly Rudderbust, to see what he’s learned from his network of contacts about locating the wayward nimblewright.
