Session 12 Summary

General Summary

Once again, the session opened at the Yawning Portal with the party celebrating their successful mission. As they sipped their drinks, the party members discussed the problem of the rat infestation and soon noticed a familiar face enter the bar; Broxley Fairkettle, representative of the Fellowship of Innkeepers. Broxley had heard of the party’s predicament and offered to connect them with a member of the Solemn Order of Recognized Furriers and Woolmen; an individual with experience dealing with their particular issue. In exchange for this connection, the party agreed to work with Broxley in their future dealings with the various guilds of Waterdeep.   As they would be meeting their new contact the next day, the party took time to visit Savra Belabranta in the Halls of Justice to collect their mission reward. While there, the party agreed to formally join the Order of the Gauntlet by swearing their oath.   After spending another night at the Yawning Portal, the party visited their manor house where they encountered a box on their front step, that ultimately contained the severed head of Krentz, the Xanathar bandit they’d befriended during their mission the day before, and a note warning them to mind their business, lest it be their heads in the box next.   Soon after they were joined by Bargus Steelwiddle, a gnome hunter who shared his experience in dealing with rat infestations and helped them come up with a plan in exchange for the dead rats when they were done.   The party then returned to the Halls of Justice to show the box and note to Savra, who advised them to be careful in any future dealings they have with the Xanathar or Zhentarim gangs, and that the person responsible for delivering the head might have been watching their encounter in the Field Ward.   After returning to their neighbourhood, the party set about collecting the components for their plan; a stray cat, two full water barrels, three spicy pepper bombs and six bottles of high proof alcohol that they procured from the proprietor of Frewn’s Brews, a greasy and unsavoury character with a curious dislike of our heroes.   Materials in hand, the party is ready to deal with these rats once and (hopefully) for all.
