Session 09 Summary

General Summary

We joined our party on the streets of the Dock Ward towards the end of another long day guarding the crew of dungsweepers, just as a hideous carrion crawler emerged from the sewers to poison and grapple a worker. In the ensuing battle, a series of eldritch blasts, arrows, javelins and hellish rebukes caused the injured monstrosity to retreat back to the sewers, dragging its paralyzed victim with it. The party pursued, continuing the battle in the stinking corridor below the streets and soon brought their enemy to the brink of death. Dropping its target, the crawler retreated but not before uttering a strange crooning shriek that reverberated off the walls and down the corridors. Little did they know, this called forth a second crawler who emerged behind the party, cutting off escape. After slaying the original target, the party turned their attention to the newcomer. Lunchmoney bravely challenged the wretched creature to a duel, while Hawthorn flew forward to land vicious slashes and Horus fired off more blasts, and soon the second creature was also quickly dispatched.
After collecting and healing the captured worker, the party returned to the streets above where Horus regaled the dungsweeper’s crew with a recounting of the battle that brought tears to their eyes and passion to their souls, forever changing the course of their no longer miserable lives.
With their mission complete, the party travelled to the Yawning Portal to claim their reward (and bonus) from Jalester Silvermane and accept his offer to join the Lords’ Alliance faction. They then proceeded to celebrate their achievements with Jalester, enjoying his free food and drink, while declining opportunities to compete in armwrestling with a heavily intoxicated Yagra Stonefist.
At the end of the night, the party returned to Trollskull Manor only to find that during their absence, the entire building had been heavily infested with rats!
