Silzal's Claw (Poison)

Silzal's Claw (Ingested): A creature subjected to this poison must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be Poisoned for 1 minute. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the target will be poisoned for 5 (1d10) minutes instead. The Poisoned creature is Paralyzed. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its next 2 turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If after the third save it still has not had a single success, then the poison will need to run its course naturally and will wear off after the allotted time has gone by.

Properties

Material Characteristics

A dried powder that needs to be dissolved into liquid and ingested. The powder itself is a hydrophobic material when you get it wet it will stick together clumping trapping air bubbles inside. Resisting the ability to stir it. If you put a small amount of water in it prior to use and stir it to get the powder wet first the paste can be easily stirred into a drink.

Compounds

The harvested berries of plant atropa belladonna are used in conjunction with the claws from a ghoul or ghast.

Origin & Source

  • Dry and dehydrate 10 berries from an atropa belladonna bush.
  • Once berries are fully dried you will need to grind them into a fine powder. Set aside.
  • Grinding up the fingernails (10) of a ghoul or ghast until in a very fine powder form.
  • Combine the powdered berries with the powdered fingernails. Mix well.
  • Makes 1d4 doses of Silzal's Claw powder.

Life & Expiration

  • Once made the compound lasts for 1 month in powder form.
  • Once wet the paste will lose its potency in 1 hour.
Odor
A slightly sweat smell when in paste form, a slight earthy smell when in a powdered state.
Taste
A very discerning pallet could taste a slight berry flavor to it. After ingesting the powder a -4 perception check to notice the flavor.
Color
Very light lavender to pink as a powder. If put in water it gives it a slight change in color that grants a +2 bonus on nature checks to identify the poison. In darker liquids like an ale or mead this would not be noticeable.
Common State
Rare to be found outside of larger towns. Street value would be around 200 to 250 gold when found.
