Geldwood

The village is a collection of ramshackle huts, their thatched roofs sagging under the weight of moss and vine, nestled at the very edge of the foreboding Eltawin Forest where trees twist and bend like the fingers of an unseen hand. A pungent odour of damp earth and decay permeates the air, accentuated by the eerie silence that only becomes disturbed by the occasional cawing of ravens perched on crooked wooden sign posts. At the heart of the village stands a large, gnarled tree with an unsettling face carved into its trunk, its eyes seeming to follow your every move, rumoured to be a remnant of an ancient guardian long corrupted by fiendish whispers.

The village is hidden away and small enough that the empire does not see fit to establish a garrison of guards and let the local lord control the town as long as the tithes are paid and when patrols pass through not open signs of rebellion are in evidence.

There is little commerce in town, just local loggers and farmers trying to eek out a meagre existence in a harst land.

The village contains a single Inn, the Twisted Oak and a general store that sells farming, woodworking and general camping equipment
