Venciza
Venciza, or the City of Progress, is the capital of Farscape.
Description
Venciza is a major metropolitan area in Farscape. The city is surrounded by tall walls and repeating sets of towers and fixed cannon emplacements. There is an inner wall that protects the inner city and the Council Chambers. It utilizes these defenses to withstand head-on assault from all sides as it is situated on a hill. Its buildings are tightly clustered with meticulous planning going into further expansions. Its growing population is carefully managed, any excess is sent to other settlements under the guise of 'prosperous resettlement'.Geography
Located to the north of the Raymer Woods, Venciza sits atop a large hill, with many of its expansions gathering around the base. It sits comfortably in slightly hilly terrain, with many plains surrounding it allowing for ample expansion and easy access to natural resources. It takes the shape of an expansive circle, with further expansions outward conducted to a set area as planned by the meticulous city planners.Society
Anyone who is anyone lives in Venciza. Though the common mob resides in most cities, tinkerers, engineers, inventors, and artists make up most of the inner city. Many vie to live there, but those who are not of sufficient renown or prestige live in the outer city. Though while not as refined or elegant as the inner city, the outer city boasts some of thje most expansive trade and craft districts in addition to wide-sweeping neighborhoods. Though even with the technological progress, pollution remains a constant issue with street-sweeper being one of the most abundant jobs for hire.Customs
Venciza celebrates few festivals and gatherings, though, they do tend to celebrate the traditional Primus holidays. Their gatherings and festivals, while few, are extravagant and city-wide, moreso centered around technological milestones or in remembrance of their past histories. The most prominent would be the Wine and Gear Celebration. It is a celebration of the arts and how technology might better promote and help it flourish. Many street plays and organized ones are held throughout the city, in addition to performances both planned and impromptu. At the end, there is usually a grand show utilizing new stage techniques and technology to entertain most of the city.

History
In 1741 BIP, Farscape had been hounded and harassed by the natural dangers of its own ancestral homeland. The city was founded for the security it would provide, being on a hill, and allow it to be a beach head against the wild threats surrounding it. This would prove fruitful in its goal and allowed established trade and new industries to rise up and flourish in this new settled land. Due to its location, it proved ever more popular and soon became the place to settle. Later, when Farscape's focus on technological progress, it was determined that a central institution dedicated to this craft would be founded. With Venciza proving to be a valuable location, it was decided to have the city host this institution-- and later become the capital of the nation.Rumors and Legends
There is a belief that many of Farscape's ancient and cast-away inventions lie in buried ruins under and around the city. Some of these inventions were buried for their dangerous usage, other due to neglect from their inventors. What the truth is, remains to be seen.Notable Locations

"They speak of this city as if it were flying! Progress, innovation, technology. Blah, blah, blah, blah! It's like no-one cares about the history of this place! The culture! People need to understand that progress isn't the only thing in life without some wine and a good song."
