Estar

Estar, also known as the Elven Lands, is a country in the North East of Primus. The province is noted for its many forests, to which some say are enchanted. There is a singular mountain range and pockets of thick, dense jungle. The mountain range, the Antiford Mountains, separates Estar from Swonyia creating land travel between the two nigh impossible. It borders Swoynia to the South and Farscape to the West. It is inhabited mainly by Elves, though some humanoid races are here in a minority. Though, with the Adrennian invasion, it is closer to say that Elves are the predominant species with Humans a close second.   Estar is a place that seems almost idyllic in comparison to the other nations. Nature is in perfect harmony. And while there are roaming beasts and spirits with foul intent roaming around, nothing is out of place should the Elves not wish it so or are incapable of holding it back. With sparse major cities, they spread out across the land like dandelions would to the wind. Clustered together but dotting around should the breeze sway different. Makers of extremely fine and detailed goods, the Elves have a known eye for quality, but their isolationist tendencies have only driven the demand for their goods.

Geography

Estar allows for moderate temperatures despite its location in the world. With its varied forests, it bears witness to all of the natural splendor that comes with the changing of the seasons. The few fields that separate the boundless range of canopies allows horticulture projects that serve more as statements of skill rather than any other modern purpose.   Yet, for all that they do, they would not so willingly talk about the dense pockets of jungle to their south east. Where forest abruptly turns to jungle and dark omens lurch about. Whispers would only escape of the bald, pale imitations of them. Of quiet chanting and muffled sounds of ritualistic sacrifice. Few have ever pried their eyes upon ancient cities of stone, fewer still have returned to spread the tale.

History

Estar used to spread from where it is currently to the very far reaches of Farscape and Delaren. Its mighty empire once unfurled its wings like the Griffon riders it boasts, beating with one heart and unified with one vision. Its ruler, Symania Aemoira, was the Queen of this Eternal Kingdom, sworn to ensure its longevity and see to it that the life on this land would be cultivated solely by the Elves. Yet, with power comes jealousy, and not even the elves were infallible.   Sibling jealousy was ignited and Symania's sister, Aelrie Aemoria, felt that she was most deserving of shouldering the burden, responsibility, and power of being the Eternal Queen. The civil war, known as the Tearing of the Fold, left the elven kingdom in shatters. It retreated to its ancestral homeland, both a volunteered effort and a necessary one as the tribalistic and relatively uncivilized races began to fight back against their elven rulers.   It was from that day forward that the Elven race and Symania realized they had failed in their mantle of responsibility. They swore a new one, to keep to themselves and allow the world to shape itself free of their influence. To hope that their long lives might forget the shame they would carry and the branded damage they inflicted upon the world. This shame led to their apathy, which subsequently led to their easy conquest later by the Adrennian Empire.
Politics   Where before Estar would be ruled by an Eternal King or Queen, she is now wholly conquered. As such, the title has been stripped and in its place a provincial governor has been installed. Octavianus Peltrasius Flavian oversees the governance of this (now) imperial province, only keeping a relic of the past to subdue the locals. This relic, the Treehorn Collective, is a gathering of sages and druids from across the land that would petition the King and Queen of local affairs that would require the court's full attention. Octavianus uses it for much the same purpose, but includes that as well of eyes and ears for possible dissident activity.
Rulers   Octavianus Peltrasius Flavian - The Provincial Governor. He would see through on his promises, believing that if you earn someone's trust, they'd be more inclined to do you a favor in return. With the Treehorn Collective, he exemplifies this, ensuring that each task brought before him is delivered with the full might of Adrennia's strength, if only to further buy the loyalty of these local experts for when the time is needed. A traveled man, he much prefers the refined civilization of the Elves and deigns to keep company with them often, an obvious disdain for the local dwarves, dragonborn, and any other non-adrennian equivalent.

Faith   Where once groves and shrines dotted through the forest were maintained and kept, Churches and monasteries line the road and cities. Places of worship to the Elven gods and that of the ancient ones have all been demolished, with the All Father's worship now predominantly in place. Still, in secret, there are isolated groves that house shrines-- where the truly faithful will dedicate the time to keep the memory of their faith alive.

Notable Places

Red Fern Woods - Home to the dryads and nomadic centaurs. Red Fern Woods earned its new name after its self-named battle between the Adrennian Forces and Lierin Qinquinal. Though the battle went in favor of the Elves, the losses sustained there have rumored to permanently alter the color of the plants growing.   Memoria Singularis - A shallow lake nestled among a grove is home to the ancient Elvish festival of rebirth and rekindling. It is rumored to be a place of ancient magic, when at night many claim to see the orbs of spirits drifting above the waters, calling out to those nearby with voices of lost loved ones and the memories they still hold.

Notable People

Octavianus Peltrasius Flavian - The Provincial Governor of the Estar territory. He is known to cut frequent deals and sees that honorable agreements are the true character of a person. Is much more willing to deal with Elves than previous counterparts and prefers them openly to any other Primus species.   Alewyn Torinas - Current leader of the Greenleaf Growth, a resistance movement within Estar. Alewyn acknowledges the hubris of the past and vows to overthrow the Adrennians occupying his home. He believes a new path for the Elves requires immediate and direct action-- and that their self-proclaimed mantle of responsibility be backed with direct and forceful action.

"Our people believed ourselves to be the harbinger of life. No race could ever ascend to our heights, to our understandings. To reach the perfection of our crafts and refinement of our arts. It was as if the ants could suddenly claim they could be a better singer than you. That arrogance, that hubris, that's what brought down our race. Forever will we have to live with this shame, never can we hope to atone."
— Elwys Shieldspire, an Estarian Sentinel turned Adrennian Border Security.

Trade Agreement

Estar

Ahala

Though Estar would boast the highest quality of crafts via the Elves, the Bandaari have allowed trade to flood and flourish within the beleaguered nation. Of course, this is in due to no part of their Adrennian overlords, who oversee the trade agreement as nothing more but more coin to be drained from their future enemies.

Ceasefire

Estar

Farscape

Even though Estar belongs on Primus, it is now Adrennian territory. No amount of Wish spells could prove different (well, maybe). For now, the two nations are not on open hostilities, but the border remains tightly observed by both parties for any potential movement.
