The Brazier of Worlds

The Brazier of Worlds is an ancient artifact said to be able to open portals between the planes.
The history of the Brazier isn't well documented. Few people believed it even existed, so the knowledge of who made it, and for what purpose, was lost to the sands of time. Some say Onatar forged it in his eternal fires, others believe that Kol Korran created it as a pathway for the creatures of the planes to trade with the material one. Others believe it was the first doorway to the Ninth Circle of Avernus. Some claim that it is the key of The Traveler. 
Made from a mysterious metal that anyone has yet to identify, inlaid with rubies and obsidian, the Brazier is a large, heavy item. The inside is filled with a roiling red liquid, and thick red and black smoke often pours out of it, but it never seems to be empty. Various characters from many different languages are carved into it in a beautiful design, but they don't seem to create any kind of comprehensible words.
