Unit 22z7
Unit 22z7 is the first unit a new Security member joins. It is a unit designed to give rokkies some practical experience before becoming full fledged Security Personnel.
After orientation all potential Security members go through a set of drills and tests to make sure they have what it takes. But that is not a substitute for experience. Unit 22z7 works along side the full ranked Security teams, giving them a chance to learn.
The unit is supervise by a few more experienced Security members, who are no longer on active security duties. They help advise the rookies in the unit.
Unit 22z7 occasionally handles smaller non emergency security concerns. The supervisors will observe, be mostly let the rookies handle these incidents on their own. This can occasionally mean they miss the obvious and end up taking the long way to a solution. But the supervisors alway make sure the incidents get resolved. After they have a briefing to discuss how the supervisor would have handled it and how that compares to how it was solved. This way the rookies can see what they are doing right and how they can improve.
This also gives them a chance to work on teamwork. Learn to negotiate different opinions and find creative solutions. All in a low pressure environment. This also helps them discover what their strenghts are, and helps them decide what branch of security they should pursue. Once they have the skills and confidence they move on to more active units.
While most people aprove of this arrangement, there is always that one person who thinks their problem needs the undivided attention of the top security units and find it offencive when they get the inexperienced rookies. Even though they just miss placed something or their cat keeps getting out, and bringing the local strays to vist. Even the top security members started out in Unit 22z7.
