IDrec and IDtar Beacons
The Interdimensional Recall Beacon or IDrec, it a required part of all Agent's kits. IDtar units are also required for many missions.
Both types of beacons are used to recall an agent from another dimention. They are linked to the Interface, and as long as they remain connected an Agent can be pulled back to the Pocket Void immediately.
The IDrec Beacon is a small portable version of the IDtar or Interdimensional Targeting Beacon. The IDrec is used for individual Agents who will need to travel from the arrival point. It is still carryed even when using the larger IDtar, just in case something happens to the IDtar.
The IDrec and IDtar use a special hyperspace frequency, sending regular pings back to the Interface. Because of its small size it is not powerful enough to send pings through heavy rock or dense force fields. In cases where it is known ahead of time the IDrec signal can be relayed through an IDtar unit.
Agents require a training course in useing and reparing both the IDrec and IDtar unit, before traveling to a new dimension.
When a beacon is activated the Interface Control officer uses the Interface to recall an agent and any Extracted with them. IDtar units are better for large scale extractions, with multiple people. Because they have a wider range.
The IDrec can work with a comms unit to relay messages back to the Interface Control Board, and from there to the comm unit. This is the only way for an Agent to keep in contact with the Pocket Void, while on missions.
