Oriandor, The Twin Faces of Fortune

Protector God

The two faced god, Oriandor can tip the scales of those he deems worth it or in some cases, those he thinks need a bit of humbling. While he does have control over fortune, Oriandor cannot outright make a person lose in something. Everyone deserves a fair shot in life, just some deserve a fairer shot than others. It is said that when a soul is born, Oriandor flips a coin on their lives, deterimining the outcome. This has led people to pray to him during pregnancy, though his clergy deny he has any real sway over fate itself.

Hall of Chance

Most large cities have temples of Oriandor somewhere within them, though sometimes they are hard to spot. Here you can come and test your luck against the keepers of the temple. Many people believe that the games you play within the walls show how you will fare on the outside. A big part of the traditions of the Halls is people coming in and telling their stories of daring feats and fleeting escapes. Though people should think twice about lying during these tales, as the keepers always seem to know, and people are known to have a run of bad luck when caught in a lie.

The Knights of a Fair Chance

Known for being a rambunctious group, The Knights of a Fair Chance wander the globe, looking for fights that are too one sided and do their best to even the odds. When they show up, they generally side with the underdog, not not really caring about what their goals are. Once the odds have been evened out, they will disappear suddenly, their job done.

Tenets

The Odds are in your favour: Those who look after themselves have better odds than those who wait for fate to turn the other cheek.
Misfortune Strikes Eventually:
Bad things happen to everyone. There is no stopping it, only pushing through.
Flip the Coin:
When given the chance, always take the bet. A loss is better than a lossed opportunity.

The Dens of Fate

When one who worshipped Oriandor dies, they arrive outside of two buildings. One, The Lavish Den and the other The Rundown Den. The soul flips a coin, deciding where they get to go. The Rundown Den has terrible drinks and food, uncomfortable furniture and horrid music but everything is free. The Lavish Den offers the best wines and liquors, the finests foods, comfiest furniture and world renowned musicians but extremely expensive. Those sent to the Rundown Den are given 500 coins, those sent to The Lavish Den are given 1,100 coins. Those with under 1,000 coins are not allowed within The Lavish Den. Those who served as Knights of a Fair Chance are offered a chance to serve as bouncers and staff within the Dens.

Gamblers Coin

This coin has travelled through hundreds of hands. A plain looking silver coin with one face showing a smiling face, the other a frown. Flipping the coin can change your life in great or terrible ways. People claim that the more you smiles you get in a row, the better and better the rewards are, but getting a single frown makes things go wrong quickly, generally starting with losing the coin. Apparently not flipping the coin can also have adverse side effects.
