Val’thala
Val’thala was once the capital of the Elven empire that was located in Soliemia. The city was positioned on the western shore of the continent, in the region that is now known as the Ember Sands. It is speculated that historically the area was not a desert when Val’thala was founded.
Not much is known about the people of Val’thala, it is said they were great mages, and some ancient texts say they were peaceful, though that has largely been dismissed as inaccurate bias.
The city was founded during the Silver Age and was destroyed a few hundred years later during the Dragon-Elf War. It is said to have been the last Elven stronghold in Soliemia during the war, where many of the Elven population fled too before it was eventually overrun and destroyed by the Dragons.
The ruins are now located in the middle of a desert, a vast ruin of crumbling buildings that are covered in perpetual ash that falls from the sky like snow. Due to Soliemia’s isolation until recently, and the ruins' location, the ruins of Val’thala have not been well explored, leaving many mysteries left to be uncovered.
