Shifters

Shifters are a rare humanoid species that has the ability to take on the shapes of animals. They are rarely born naturally and are rather a mutation found in an existing species.
Shifters are commonly the offspring of parents with lycanthropy. Shifters can also be created from failed lycanthropy attempts or even as blessings from Gods.
Shifters can originate from any humanoid species on Exorsia that can contract lycanthropy, with it most common in Humans due to their increased population.
Shifters are commonly confused for Lycanthropes and are shunned or hunted because of it, forcing them to live on the outskirts of society.

Appearance:

Shifters usually resemble their origin species but with animalistic traits, these can include more body hair than usual, long sharp teeth, animalistic ears and eyes or claws instead of fingernails.

Maturity:

Shifters can live as long as their origin species and mature at the same rate too.

Reproduction:

Shifters reproduce similarly to Humans, with their offspring having a high chance of also carrying the Shifter gene.
