Myrian

Myrian was the capital of the Myrian Empire, better known as the Undying Empire. It was one of the major magocracies active during the final years of the Age of Arcanum. Myrian was a floating city located in the south of modern day Osirin.
Myrian was the head of a violent and territorial Empire who specialised in necromantic magic, which it used to raid vast armies of undead to conquer its neighbours and destroy its enemies.
Myrian was ruled by the Undying King Otar, an ancient mortal being who has ruled Myrian for far longer than was thought possible. Fragments from the time suggest that the King feared death above all else, with many claiming that they had found a way to become immortal. Modern scholars speculate that the Undying King may have been a lich. Otar was a powerful and controlling King, a mighty warrior who fought on the front lines of battle, hordes of undead at his beck and call.
Accounts from the War of Arcanum recount that when the Gods came to strike down Myrian, every soldier they slew rose to fight again and again and again, unending. Even when Ares himself cleaved the city in two, sending the largest part crashing into the Myrian Peaks and the other part into the Crag, the people of Myrian dug themselves out of the ruins and continued fighting. It was only once the Gods found and destroyed the Undying King himself did the dead finally rest.
In the modern day Myrian lies in two separate ruins. The largest part of the city lies scattered across the Myrian Peaks, it is a common location for archeologists and treasure hunters who unearth ancient buildings and fragments from within the mountain. The second part of the city crashed into the island of the Crag, causing the area to become polluted by a vast amount of magical radiation, creating a ring of decay around the ruins. Because of this the island is avoided, and any attempts at exploring the ruin have ended in tragedy.
