Atlas - Titan of Air
Atlas is the Titan of Air and Endurance. He is said to have been an incredibly strong Giant, capable of withstanding anything thrown at him.
Atlas was also associated with the calm skies and the infinite horizon that separates the sky from the earth, in contrast to Zeus’ destructive storms. It is said that Atlas was the first to study the stars, using them to navigate the world and track the seasons.
Atlas was created by his mother Gaia as part of her plot to usurp the Gods. He was created to one day usurp control over the Elemental Plane of Air from its current ruler Zeus. But that never came to be as Atlas and his two brothers, Epimetheus and Prometheus, were rejected by their mother, thought to be too soft. Instead the brothers joined the side of the Gods during the Gigantonomy.
There is not much surviving scripture written about Atlas, with him only mentioned in accounts of the Gigantonomy, and nothing thereafter. The only other accounts are to do with astronomy and one ancient oral legend that suggests that Atlas holds up the horizon. But this story is largely debunked by the scientific community.
Apperance:
Atlas is often depicted as a giant sized, muscular, masculine figure, with earthen skin, short, white hair and a thick beard.
