Central Eaton Rainplant

Only four Central Eaton Rainplants have ever been seen. The Life expectancy of the plant is an incredible 800 years, however, because of their rarity, almost nothing is known about their lifestyle in their natural environment.
The current Rainplant is being housed in the palace of the "First Son of Eaton" in the Eaton capital city "Eatongrad". It has a staff of 5 looking after the plant so that it is both healthy and safely looked after. There is also a security team and a secure greenhouse that is considered one of the safest places in the whole country.   The natural range of the plant is unknown as there have been so few known to man, but whatever the range may be, it must be very restricted. Scientists believe the plant may prefer to be near still water with higher humidity. It is susceptible to the wind, so it probably occupied the steep narrow cracks in the ancient basalt flows of central Eaton which are now mainly surrounded by thick forest.   Over the centuries there have been many expeditions into the deep jungle to search for the plant. There however have never been two plants found at the same time. The expeditions to search for the Rainplant have numerous times been met with disaster and many believe that any expectations would be cursed. There is a legend that any Rainplant will not allow another Rainplant to be found while it is in the keeping of Man.   The plant itself has a slight rubber feel to the leaves and stem and is often more of a purple colour over the winter while more green over the summer. The stem itself seems to sway and move, realigning the leaves depending on its mood or requirements. There are flower cups, held onto the stem by a smaller stem that looks like a chain link. The flowers will stay for years before they wither and then regrow from the same stem point.
