Hearken Call

Forgotten Realms : Malar
Show spoiler
For this event, all people were invited to partake of the bounty of the hunt, regardless of faith. At this time, priests of Malar chose some widows, orphans, elderly, or infirm citizens and promised to provide meat for their tables for the winter. During the harsh winters in the northern parts of Faerûn, Hunts chose a village in the wilderness, providing food for the people, with one or two Malarites pledging themselves to keeping the village fed through the snows.   Hunters provide a feast? Hunt a large beast or specific beast?   Day for hunters to provide a feast for the area and any hunter who wishes to gain favor must enter their hunting regions and listen for the call.

Execution

The Fletching

Children and those untaught in ways of the hunt, are gathered to learn how to make weapons, traps, killing blows, and how to hunt. Depending on the area and culture of the region changes the type of weapon, traps, type of animal/humanoid, and methods of the hunt. Magic can be used to located the prey, concealment, and even weaponry; however, magic isn't always included as many are not dragon-taught.

The Hunt

For a series of days, individuals go out to hunt for food. Beginning of the Hunt changes based on the number of individuals, who are able and possess hunting knowledge, and type of area. The Hunt must happen on/after the holiday set date and must be completed despite weather, or other conditions. The Hunt is announced by the call of the Horn and all hunters must gather for the Hunt's start.
