Festival of Orbs

Execution

During the alignment of the planes, portals between the two realms appear more frequently and stay open longer. Allowing passage for fey and non-fey to pass freely, causing all kinds of antics, tragedies, affairs, parties, and unwanted guests.
The only warning for when the fey will enter the realm is the appearance of glowing orbs. The orbs are the first 'fey' that cross over. The orbs tell the people that whatever they have prepared needs to be finished now. The festival is both a sign of respect and fear of the fey.

Common

Faun

Fauns are common for their widespread travel through Feywild portals. Three sub-species of Faun; sheep, goat, and deer, can be found during this festival and enjoying the company of mortals. Their appearance is both familiar and exotic, causing many children to be sired between mortals and faun. Most faun are not malevolent, unlike fairies and pixies, and come for the experience of mortal culture.

Minotaur & Centaur

Minotaur & Centaur can be timid people, however, this is not a limiting characteristic with many moving past this once they feel safe. Much like fauns, the two species enjoy company of mortals and wish to experience their culture. Unlike the faun, these two species have conflicting, diverse views on children born between mortals and fey. Only observed to be hostile in a specific area of the Prime Material and when highly intoxicated, which interestingly these two species can become solely on mortal liquors.

Moth Fey

Moth Fey are a mysterious people of contradicting behaviors as this species hails from two planes; Feywild and Shadowfell. Their visits are noticeable, but common enough people seem to forget that little is know about them. Moth fey are known to not drink mortal liquors- can match a Faun in drinking capacity- and leave earlier than other fey despite their desire to stay.

Firbolgs and Giants

Firbolgs and Giants of the Feywild are cautious. Both species travel, or live, in hostile areas of the Feywild to reach portals. For first time visit by this species, they are alert and on edge to combat danger; conversely, frequent visitors are quick to shed combative instinct for merriment. If any species were to watch for unruly Fey, or Prime mortal, these two would be the first to respond and lead them home.

Will O'Wisp

Will O'Wisp aren't a singular species, rather a glowing orb with various abilities. These orbs will join non-hostile versions of itself and use them as cover passing through portals. Will O'Wisps attack individuals unconscious or alone, thus ruin festivities.

Observance

This festival is unusual as the exact date is not set. It's more of a prediction when the Material Plane and Feywild align. It has been observed that the alignment goes frequent the full moon.

Faun View towards Children These children are typically taken to the Feywild when still in the mother's womb and the mother can go back to the Prime Material after birth if she desires. A mortal sire can join the faun mother in the Feywild, as the faun have no problem with mortals joining their culture.
