Fair Night

On the world's darkest night, a small temple resting on a hill of glass becomes a beacon. Smoke trails, fragrant scents, and soft prayers matched with priestal chants around every corner of the city. Before laughter and color becomes the very air, as lover's make a promise under goddess's eyes, then sharp sound and silence of wonderfuled eyes glaze at the sky. No longer is it dark, but filled with rippling colors and shining silver for once night exceeds the beauty of day.   After the ceremonies, the relaxed priestesses tell tales of far off worlds and creatures beyond imagination. People have debated whether or not to believe their tales of these worlds, but all believe tales spoken with such conviction under a fair night.

History

Every winter, Fair Night occurs. With every year, particpates swear it was more beautiful than the last. A tale speaks of one night when Fair Night occured in summer. It is said this night could never be matched be any night after. How beautiful? Depends on who is telling the tale, thus it is believed a Fair Night held in any other season will be the next greatest story to tell.

We shall watch over each other as you watch over us." The pair face each other, kneeling at second sentence, then lifting the mirror/scale/silver to the sky.
