Dubbed as a madman even among goblins, shunned by his tribe and left alone in the wilderness to die... All for a vision that turned out to be true in the end, it just hadn't come to pass yet. Sik, the Forsaken spent the first decade of his life having visions of a portal that led into a chaotic wilderness full of magical denizens, many of which began to spill out into the surrounding forest. He raved about the sprites & pixies, werewolves & all other manner of creatures that would ruin their hunting grounds, forcing them from their home. His entire tribe just assumed he was insane & treated him as such to the point where Sik began to question his visions.
Eventually, as hunting was getting scarce one year, the tribe left him behind tied to a tree as they moved on, so as to not be weighed down feeding a hopeless maniac. He was stuck tied to that tree for days on end, slowly descending into actual madness as he starved very nearly to the point of death. Long after he had given up hope of getting out of the bindings & was beginning to wish for the sweet release of death, an animal approached from the shadowy brush nearby. A panther, drawn to Sik for reasons he will never be able to explain, cut him free from the bindings and brought him to a place where he could rest. The panther brought back food, feeding it to Sik until he grew strong enough to feed himself once more. The two became inseparable, Sik naming the panther Fang somewhere along the way.
Then the night of dancing lights across the darkened sky happened, as the gateway for Artaggan was opened between the Feywild & the Material Plane. Artaggan stepped through, but so did many of the other denizens of that Plane, bringing with them their love of chaos & Fey magic powers. And the forest around him was just as it had been in his visions. Sik has spent much of the remaining years fighting directly against the invading Fey, but has had to retreat from the forest as it became overrun in time.
Nearly 20 years have passed since the portal first opened, the Fey have been unleashed upon Tal'Dorei, everyone knows it, but Sik knew it first, before it even happened & he was there nearby when it finally did. In his 'madness', there is often great wisdom, if one can get past his method of delivery. The original Fang passed away many years ago & another since, now the third Fang walks by Sik's side, always a black panther that is drawn to this goblin ranger. Each one is a little different, but that doesn't stop the madness that holds sway over Sik's mind from seeing them all as the same animal with one long history.
