Once a well respected member of one of the elite families of Tz'arrm, Khokrac has been cast out of his society. He was wrongfully accused of / framed for treason & exiled forever on pain of death. His accuser is in fact his wife's 2nd lover, a vindictive man who would do anything to get what he wanted who had tired of sharing the woman they both loved. Taking nothing but the armor he wore, his weapons & a single steed, Khokrac left Tz'arrm & headed north into the lands of men, usually seen as a death sentence for a lone hobgoblin. Fiery vengeance burns in his heart, a hatred that festers constantly beneath the surface. He knows it would be both suicidal & useless to return to his home, especially alone, in search of retribution so long as he remains exiled. That doesn't stop him from fantasizing daily about the multitude of ways he'd like to torture the man who stole his wife & sent him into exile, if he ever did return. If he could find the proof that he was framed, then things would become infinitely easier, but he hasn't got a clue where to start looking for that information.
Khokrac has already learned the hard way that most civilized spaces aren't very friendly towards his people, having been run out of the first 2 towns that he'd tried to go into with a disguise. He has learned to be extremely careful to hide his true identity in normal humanoid settlements, especially in the southern towns that have seen hobgoblin warbands assaulting their walls before. Learning to coexist with people who spend the vast majority of their time on pursuits other than war is the greatest challenge of his life.
