Runners

Members of the Graypool Ward who are equipped with Ironwood Legplates. The legplates allow soldiers to run as fast as a horse and jump over multi-story buildings.

Composition

Manpower

200 strong, half of the Graypool Ward in Ladun are equipped with the armor.

Equipment

Each soldier is equipped with and attuned to a set of ironwood armor. The armor covers the soldier's lower body and uses their magical energy to grant incredible lower body strength and speed.

Weaponry

To complement their unique combat style, Runners are equipped with a lance and crossbow. The lance is very effective against enemy cavalry and infantry while the crossbows allow runners to function as recon units that can employ hit and run tactics to harrass enemy formations.

Structure

Directly under General Gareth Forley, Runners support troops as needed.

Tactics

Able to fill multiple roles in combat, Runners can perform as cavalry, recon, supply lines, and support archers with their crossbows.

Training

The Graypool Ward trains all of it soldiers to operate in tandem with Runners, but becoming a Runner requires recommendations and physical abilities to handle the strain of ironwood armor on your body for long periods of time.
