Ladun
Eastern citadel of Dolinde that overlooks the Swina Marshes.
Purpose / Function
Protects the eastern end of the Kindred Pass. Serves as the biggest settlement in the Swina Marshes and home to Rosalinde and her Verdant Sibyls.
Architecture
The eastern wall of Ladun faces the Swina Marshes and is readily defensible by the Graypool Ward.
The buildings are mostly single story and those that are multiple stories have wooden construction above the stone. The main roads are paved with cobblestone but alleys and smaller streets may not be entirely paved. Instead, they have stone walkways that leave earth exposed between them to let the constant drip of condensating water flow out of the city, rendering it almost imperbious to flooding.
Ladun is dominated by the citadel itself where Rosalinde presides over her half of Dolinde, The Twinned City. The citadel is the only entirely stone structure and has thick vines growing up its flanks. The fortified citadel was built from basalt mined from the Peaks and is the only building taller than the outer wall.
