Graypool Ward

Purpose / Function

The eastern barracks of the Landsknechts that are stationed in Ladun. Less in number than the Crag Ward, but residents of Ladun believe they are more fierce.

Architecture

The Graypool Ward is a circular structure. The first floor is stone and the top three stories are made of ironwood from the The Basalt Peaks. In the center of the building is a circular training ground and each floor has inward facing balconies for viewing the training ground.

Defenses

The Graypool Landsknechts pride themselves on their Runners and their fighting tactics. Much more mobile than traditional knights, Runners wear almost no armor on their torso while heavily armoring their legs.

The armor they wear is constructed with ironwood tendons that enhances each runner's mobility, but drains their magical energy in the process. The armor allows them to leap incredible distances and run much faster than common footsoldiers and allowing the Graypool Ward to function as a cavalry unit.

Tourism

The Graypool Ward hosts tournaments in their barracks for the general population to see. The acrobatic fighting and showmanship of their runners gives residents of Dolinde, The Twinned City an incredible show. For championship tournaments, Rosalinde herself has been known to attend.
