Common Knowledge

Common Knowledge As a Member of Evonire

Civilization and the History of The Burnings:   Civilization was rumored to have been thriving before the Burnings. The First Burning occurred 300 years ago, while the Second Burning was only 150 years ago. There are multiple explanations for the Burnings, depending who you ask. Each city tends to have their own theory. Most believe that the Burnings were a reaction to war. Some believe it to be a natural reaction from the earth, others a divine intervention.   Both Burnings restarted civilization. In both cases, the High Elves were the ones scrambling to become civilized. The Evonire civilization is run by three major capital cities; Corellon's rule is the largest, a city of materialistic High Elves lead by a leader and his ring of advisors. The Settlement of Guilds, the second largest, a mishmash of Guilds, and Morfester (article to be added), the third, much smaller city from High Elf rule that's generally salty it's not the best.

These cities have their territorial boundaries, their own law enforcement, culture, merchantry, religion, etc. So, each city has smaller towns inside their territory and usually, the further out a town is from their inner city, the harder it is for that city to control it.

Notes: The population has significantly decreased. Certain races are extremely rare, such as Tieflings and Wood Elves. I'd also recommend at least looking at the city you're from, unless you're not from either one.
Knowledge and Magic   The library is a myth/folk legend that most people have heard of in passing. Its prominence in folklore varies in different regions. The Myth of the Library can be found in Session 5 of The Plot Thus Far.   Currently, there are high tensions between the humans and halflings, who mostly reside outside the limits of any city.   Magical places and creatures are not unheard of in folklore, but almost no one has ever met a person who could channel magic. Any magic users nowadays have been gifted their magic, either through some deity, force, or inexplicable circumstance. Although there may have once been people who, through study and dedication, learned to channel the arcane, all that knowledge has been lost long ago.
