Plattblad
Name means: Flat Leaf or page
To maximize sun exposure, Plattblad have evolved into long and thin sheets of photosynthetic cells held to the sea floor with a holdfast. The holdfast does not absorb nutrients from the bottom, those are acquired from the surrounding waters along with gases necessary for photosynthesis. The exo-plant spreads by either growing another photosynthetic sheet from its holdfast that then separates and hopefully manages to settle. Or, the sheet simply remains attached to the original and continues to supply it with glucose.
