If Merlin reprosents light magic, then Morgana reprosents black magic. Which is something of a strugle inside her relationship with her husband, and their son, Otrix. Who is more a son of his father, then of his mother. But she doesn't hate her own boy, he is just someone that she can't understand, no matter how hard she tries. That is why she left him in Rumplestilskin's care. So that she can find a way to connect with him, and reestablise the love she feels for her own husband.
