The Black Band

The Black Band is a group of marauders that occasionally hire themselves out to anyone needing an enormous force of brutal warriors. They are widely regarded as the most dangerous of the bandit bands, as much for their tactics as their numbers. Operating in The Darkwood, the band gathers its members and strikes less protected settlements in an overwhelming wave, burning anything they don't take and killing anyone foolish enough to stay behind. They go out of their way to defeat and absorb smaller bandit clans as well as the half-human children of trolls and ogres where they cannot convince the giants themselves. With the aid of the giants, they have successfully driven off or remained hidden from both the Imperial Legion and Oaken Army. They have an uneasy alliance with the Reaver's Republic.
