Steam Rotor Technology

Compact and fueled by only fire and water, the Steam Rotor is a device capable of generating enough kinetic force to move even the heaviest landships. The technology is a so closely guarded a secret of the Republic of Kuasta that pilots are instructed to destroy any given rotor if there is even a chance of enemy capture, and the factories that produce them are kept in different towns for each component, assembled by a secret team of military engineers at the fortress-city of Kilkaluma.

Complexity

Mechanically, the steam rotor is intentionally over-engineered to create a false sense of complexity. Competent mechanics in the Empire have been able to correctly identify the steam rotor as a fully mechanical device.

Discovery

Kuastan engineers unveiled the first steam rotor landships in 1290, and have closely guarded the secret ever since. They have intentionally allowed enemy spies to capture false origin stories, all very time consuming and resource intensive.
