Loxen

Loxen are massive furry creatures that resemble a cross between a lizard and a shaggy cow. They have six legs with gecko-like pads on their feet, allowing them to cling to surfaces for climbing. They are too heavy to rest on a vertical surface however and must keep moving. Loxen were initially used by Paoleyan farmers across the continent for their fur, milk, and meat as well as working animals, and in the last century their use has spread to other human groups. They are a little expensive to maintain compared to cows, but are growing in popularity due to their ability to eat nearly anything and survive in even harsh environments.    Loxen milk is comparable to a yak's, with a thick consistency and a grassy sweet flavor. It produces a a crumbly cheese, and is sometimes used for yoghurt. Loxen cheese is considered a delicacy by some communities. The fur is almost like wool and is used in creating heavy winter garments. The meat is usually served blackened with flat bread and leafy green vegetables.
