Hollow Child Syndrome
Hollow Child Syndrome occurs when a small child or baby is made the vessel of an outsider, ghost, or other powerful entity. While the presence is not always there, the child never develops a personality or motivations of their own, often becoming nearly soulless husks when the corrupting influence is not immediately present. Typically, the initial possession occurs when the child is tricked into accepting a pact with such an entity, most commonly demons. While a victim can be freed of HCS, the resulting free being is likely to retain the personality and desires of the corrupting entity or as described above be a walking shell of a person. The longer such a possession lasts, the more difficult it is to free or rehabilitate the victim.
