Grandmaster
Each of the philosophies and fighting styles of the Way of the Changing Seasons is headed by a Grandmaster, one chosen to lead the followers of their specific sect.

Appointment
With the death of the previous Grandmaster, the next is given the title with little ceremony, simply a public affirmation of their commitment to their particular sect's ideology.
Duties
The Grandmaster makes the major decisions for each monastery of the Way. They are responsible for the spiritual guidance of all those beneath them, as well as appointing other monks to specific duties such as instructors or librarians. They also act as the face of the monastery, interacting with local governments on behalf of the Way.

The Grandmasters of Way monasteries are roughly equivalent to the head priest of any other church, though they are often treated more as respected equals than flat out superiors.
