William "Bill" Boone Character in Evermore | World Anvil

William "Bill" Boone

Race: Human Class: Fighter   Raised in a small valley hidden in the scrubland bordering the Eastern Deserts on the outskirts of Agnfall, William “Bill” Boone has lived a simple life. His parents were settlers, lost to a famine in the early stages of establishing their homestead. It was taken over by an old dwarven couple, also settling nearby, and they raised Bill as their own. In such a sparsely populated place he made few friends but a stray dog, who he named Tilly that from then on never left his side.   He learned to ride and survive as a sort of ranch hand, watching over herds and fighting off the occasional bandit using an old revolver entrusted to him by his adopted father.   Eventually, he proved handy enough with the gun to get hired for other jobs- security details, escorts, and guiding travelers through the rugged terrain. It was a simple existence, but a good one.   It all changed one day, back watching the family herd. He was attacked by rustlers, not uncommon, but these ones seemed different. They spoke a language he couldn’t understand, and when he searched the leader’s body he found a small book, full of writings that he guessed were in the same language. But on a few pages, there were drawings. Drawings that unsettled him deeply.   He tried to shake the feeling, but soon after decided to set out and try to understand. His last job was to guide a small group of settlers that said they came from a place called Vaeria, a place of great learning.   Seeking minds greater than his own, Bill set out towards the West, looking for answers he couldn’t find himself.
