"Lumi"

The First stands before a figure, their hair flowing gently above them with the breeze in a large clearing the woods. The First says, “Tell me your sanctioned words.” The figure, a medium sized woman on both of her knees, takes one hand and puts it on the hilt of her sword. Her eyes closed. “MNH SHA MYO, MNH SHU KRU” (My attainment is Honor, my attainment is to Cut.)

The First looks down at the figure and then says, “What is your sanctioned action.” The Figure says, “The sanctioned action is to Cut.”
As soon as the figure says that she immediately draw her blade and in a flash of light she is a few feet away from where she was once kneeling in an attempt to cut The First, their sword drawn out in a horizontal slash. In that same flash The First is now behind the other, their blade a shiny green hue glinting in the peaking sun that shines through the trees. A drop of green liquid falls from The First’s blade and on the leaves below their feet. The Figure drops to her knee wincing in pain holding the side of her stomach as it leaks with a green liquid.
"You are still slow Lumi. Sensei will not accept this. You think too much on the action and not on the instinct."
More green fluid begins falling from the side of the Figure as she drops her sword now fully realizing the severity of the wound. She coughs up some green fluid as The First begins to speak.
“From today you will learn the 18 Precepts of cutting, we will go over 5 today and you will commit them to memory from now until the day you are slain. Now -” The First flicks their sword and it vanishes.
