Abbot

The abbots are responsible for the operation and maintenance of all churches, sanctuaries, and places of worship in the area assigned to the abbeys, and for the work and organization of the priests and holy knights serving in these places. The abbots are usually subordinate to the Grand Abbot, if not, they report directly to the monarch.
The Grand Abbot is an abbot who, with his office, organizes and manages the given religious community of the entire country, and his only superior is the monarch.

Képesítés

The abbot must have at least 10 years of ecclesiastical service history, a letter of recommendation from at least five priests stationed in different places, and must testify in a public examination that he knows religion and understands financial matters. Most of the abbots worked with chancellor, in his office or as a steward for a longer or shorter time. Sometimes they even require military service or finished training, as well as an age requirement (i.e. they expect people over 30).

Kinevezés

The abbot is inaugurated by the monarch during a solemn service.

Felelősségek

The abbot is responsible for the full operation of the abbey; the organization of daily work, protection, the maintenance of the buildings and the management of available supplies. Most abbeys are self-sustaining, but all the priests and priestesses serving in the country are assigned to one abbey (in the absence of one, to a large church). They are obliged to take care of the smaller churches and sanctuaries assigned to them outside the abbey territory, as if they were on the site.

Előnyök

The abbots are given a relatively free hand in managing the affairs of the estate. There are those who use this power for the benefit of the community, there are those who help their friends to get political advantages, and of course sometimes it happens that the abbot's hand is slightly bent towards himself. This is a mainly bureaucratic position, but some still lead religious services. Hoeing in the abbey garden is definitely not for the abbot.

Díszek & Felszerelés

Solioran's abbot's robe is white with gold trim, and the sun disc with the red phoenix sign on his chest. Comes with a white bejeweled hat and a long ornate cane/scepter. Everydays, the abbot wears a simple priest's robe (white for Solioran, gray for Goren), but he always has his signet ring with him, you never know when he suddenly needs to sign something.

Visszavonás Körülményei

There has never been an example of the king taking back the title, if the delinquent was forced to retreat with mild force. If the abbot feels that his tasks are too much, six months before his resignation, he applies for the transfer of the title to the chancellor . If the abbot is chronically ill, i.e. unable to perform his duties for more than a year, the king appoints a new abbot. If the abbot dies, the king appoints a new abbot. If the abbot is prevented or a new abbot has not been installed, the chancellor and his office temporarily take over the management of the abbey's duties.

Count, although this is not usually stated. The abbot has the same rights over the lands and civilians belonging to the abbey as the count has in his territory. Although the abbeys are located within the territory of some counties, they have a specific autonomy.
