Baron/Baroness

A Baron rules over a smaller parcel of land under a Duchy, called a Barony. They are split up under a Duchy so that a Duke doesn't have to deal with the smaller things in his Duchy. Baron's are under the rule of the King, their Duke and any Prince, as well as the Regent. Often they are left to their own rule, unless there are bigger matters that higher authorities feel the necessity to deal with themselves. A Baroness is the wife of a Baron.
