Lorenzo Monte

Lorenzo was born just outside of Sienna in June 1417, on an olive farm in his village of San Donato. By the age of 16 he had inherited the farm and married the love of his life Gianna, who was already pregnant with their daughter Margheritta. When he was 18 he answered the call to arms for the Knights Templar as was customary where he lived, saying goodbye to his family and hoping a swift return. The Knights recognized his adept pace of learning for technique and his quick grasp at tactical combat menouvers, conscripting him into their ranks as an official squire. He squired for a knight by the name of Brando for a year, during which time he learned the life of knighthood and followed in his steps. From which he learned the more leisurely k-night life (heh) such as drink, gambling, and regular warfare.
After which a certain circle of people quickly realized he was a valuable asset to a higher purpose, so they quickly hurried him away from the life he was growing accustomed too. At that moment he was being trained to join the Company of Eden, practicing with larger equipment, at being more agile in combat, and maneuvering the battlefield. He was not only trained martially in unusual tactics, but also in scripture, to use the power and will of God to vanquish evil and it's spreading roots. He spent many years in the Company of Eden, fighting demons, devils, and cults alike in secrecy from the world. Keeping the world safe and in God's hands was his new calling. Little did he know the corruption in the new Pope line. Lorenzo Monte discovored this after a failed attempted assassination of the now (1444) Pope Felix V. The first non-Italian Pope in many years, the original coup failed their attempt to stop Felix V from ascending the Papacy. The head circle of the Company of Eden took years to plan another inserection, this time the plan was to use Lorenzo and a fellow Eden compatriot to start a public outrage. In doing so they would use the public as a weapon in their ploy, however Lorenzo overheard one of their meetings and realized the truth, cementing his knowledge after consulting the vaulted library the Company keeps safe in which he finds evidence towards his findings. He renounces the church and God, believing all of this is just to gain power over the people, and that it's all a lie. He leaves the Company and his compatriots, heading home where he can finally be with his wife and daughter. He comes to the hill, where he can see his family smiling and waving at his return, Margheritta grown up, and couldn't bear to return to them after all he's done. Since then he's turned his back on Christ, falling back into a life of sin, viewing it as what any human would do, given they weren't constrained by the idiologies of an after-life.
