Company of Eden

Company of Eden
  • St Peter, Apostle of Jesus and the first pope, founded the (Company of Eden) shortly after his ordination as pope, an organization devout to God and the reigning pope, also in order to stop any future events such as the Massacre of the Innocents and the rising of the Devil. This organization is comprized of elite paladins whos' task is to stay in the shadows of the people, keeping the forces of the Devil from manifesting and gaining power, and to aid the military in order to change the tide of war if need be. For centuries these soldiers of the Holy Crown were used to snuff out sources of demonic power, and aiding in times of war. With the murder of Pope Benedict VI in 974, the (Company of Eden?) was openly announced that they will be dispanded by Pope Benedict VII, in doing so he can keep the (Company) underground to focus on the growing demonic threat. As the years pass, and the greed of humanity grows, the current Pope Callixtus II abuses his power. As the Knights Templar is formed in 1119 as an extension of the (Company of Eden). He contracts the (Company of Eden) to train the Templar army. To hone their skills and to pass their knowledge of warfair through Christ in an attempt to gain leverage over the battlefield, in doing so he could quietly guide the Templar Order in a more open way. Lieing to the (Company) that what they are doing is for the greater good and is a just, fair act. Between 4 July 1415 – 11 November 1417 there was no valid pope elected. With no pope to succeed him, Pope John XXII used the last of his reign to corruptly use the (Company of Eden) in order to keep Italian blood for the rest of the popes in the forseeable future. Tasked with eliminating political and non-Italian rivals under the impression they are doing what is right, and that those who they were eliminating were agents of evil, that this is what needs to be done for the greater good. On July 30, 1419 Pope Martin V initiates the Hussite Wars and utilizes them as keepers of the peace, and a shining example of followers of Christ. (See Lorenzo Monte's backstory)
