Alryn Mors

Alryn Mors (a.k.a. The Dark Stranger)

Sitting at a saloon at the edge of the multiverse rests the one known only to those who have died. A being clad in strange attires and burning purple eyes, interested only in the stories of the damned. As those who seek to pass into the next life stare longingly into the creature's features, glass of their favourite beverage in hand, slip the secrets of their now distant life.   Yet, there are some who are fated not die, and what deal that they make with Alryn remains a secret that the resurrected take to their graves once again...

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Alryn bears a rather stocky build in their current form, boasting a healthy skin tone and little scars. Nobody has ever seen them move asides guiding others into the afterlife, so their agility and ableness to endure in strenuous activity is unknown. As a member of the Mors family, they are immune to many forms of diseases and ailments of the body and mind.

Body Features

Their bodily extremities glow with a pink-purple glow, including ears, fingers, and toes.

Facial Features

A well-groomed muttonchop beard

Special abilities

The Price of Admittance. Those who choose to take the Coin from Alryn will return to the land of the living, into the body they once inhabited, only moments from the point of death. However, their maximum Fate point allowance is permanently reduced by 1. If a creature has no remaining Fate point slots left upon returning to the Saloon at the Edge of Creation cannot be revived by any means short of a Wish spell.

Apparel & Accessories

Once dressed in a ghostly veil, they now are adorned in attires more akin to a gunslinger from the Old West. A feather pinned to their hat is a memento from their mothering God, plucked from Gaern the Mist Raven itself.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Born from the chaos of the primordial void, Alryn emerged as a formless bead of matter seeking purpose. Cradled in the cold arms of the Raven Queen, they began to take shape to their surroundings. At first, took to the form of a spectre clad in a whisping veil, acting as a guide for some of the stray souls who wandered into the Well. As the millenia went by, their form morphed to the stories and experiences of those they aided back to their final destination, eventually settling onto what it has become now, and has remained so for generations.   For their efforts in service to the Gods of Death, Alryn was granted a small demi-plane of their own, forged to their liking. This plane, simply put, is just a small Old West style saloon complete with swinging doors and a dour barkeep. Those who venture past the veil of the living world emerge in this bar, their favourite drink laid before them, and the Dark Stranger of old sitting across. Now, Alryn provides those who come into contact with them a choice - either tell their story and walk through the doors together into the afterlife, or take the coin that they present.
