The Blight

The Blight is a fearsome disease that has been plaguing Draydar for the past few years. The cause is unknown to the general population, and though it doesn't appear to be directly contagious, where one is infected, there are likely many more. The disease Is largely categorized by its primary symptom of dark discolorations on the skin that mark its infected. The disease seems to be exclusively terminal, though the pace of the disease can vary greatly between individuals.

Symptoms

Symptoms typically include fatigue, weakness, but particularly large black discolorations on the skin. The size and frequency of these spots increase as the disease progresses.

Treatment

Treatment typically involves tending to the symptoms of the disease and keeping the infected strong for as long as possible. It is rumored that a vaccine has been developed somewhere in the world, but at any rate, such a cure has not made its way to the public.

Prognosis

The disease seems to be almost exclusively fatal. There are very few recorded cases of survivors, and even those victims have no idea how they were able to survive.

Cultural Reception

The disease's lack of direct contagion is not widely understood, and even in places that do know of this fact, it is whispered that being near a victim of the disease brings bad luck and possible infection. Some places (such as Norlyn) actively quarantine their city and do not let the infected inside.
