The Aelee (pronounced "aylee"), or mothfolk as they are more commonly known in Etunn, bear resemblance to anthropomorphic moths. They believe that the whisperrock of Etunn holds a special spiritual significance, and much of their society is devoted to the cultivation of spiritual awareness and the attainment of wisdom. They are quiet and gentle when first approached, but display a remarkable strength of will and morality. Their communities are tightly-knit and strictly hierarchical.
Aelee Traits
- Ability Score Increase: WIS +2, DEX +1
- Age: Aelee are born as larvae, and are only considered adults once their wings are fully grown and have attained a colorful plumage. The oldest mothfolk live about half a century.
- Size: Aelee typically range from just under 5 feet to 6 feet in height, and usually weigh between 130 and 160 pounds. Your size is Medium.
- Speed: 30 ft.
- Compound Vision: Your compound eyes are excellent at finding what little light there is in darkness. You can see in dim light as if it were bright light out to 120 feet, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can discern colors in dim light and darkness, but only on the ultraviolet spectrum.
- Flight: You have a flying speed of 50 feet. To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor.
- Whisper of the Night: You have proficiency in the Stealth and Perception skills.
- Mothfolk Magic: You learn the dancing lights, friends and prestidigitation cantrips.
- Ethereal Mind: Magic can't put you to sleep.
- Languages: You can speak Common and Aelee. The Aelee language is a complex system of clicks, hums, and whistles that sounds like beautiful otherworldly music. It is impossible for non-Aelee to speak the language unless through magical means of translation, as the Aelee physiology is the only physiology equipped to speak the language properly.
