Session 9: THE CALLER IN THE DARKNESS

General Summary

The group cautiously approaches the center of the Rotten Grove. There the group confronts the Caller in the Darkness and the effects of the Grove itself. A brief encounter ensues, and the group defeats a Blightwalker and the Caller in the Darkness. Once the Caller is defeated a large swarm of butterflies' swirls around the amalgam of souls. Emerging from the butterflies is a small female humanoid, with features of every humanoid race. Arabelle, the 6-Armed Lady. Arabelle provides insight into two events, the first being the Battle at the Black River. The place where Lord Kretia and his allies would be defeated. The second is showing Rummy the location of the last Creator stone. After this interaction the group awakens in a field to the sound of music, laughter, and the smell of fair food. The group find a small carnival, the Carnival of the Mists. Paying their entry fee, the group disperse into the Carnival. The group decompress from the recent events that have led them to this point and have fun. However, during this fun filled escapades the members of the group find various items missing from their inventory. Missing these important magical items, the group scrambles across the Carnival investigating this heinous crime. Benimaru is able to see that the culprits are Boggles, magical creatures who like to steal magical weapons/items. Although harmless, Boggles can be troublesome pests. Unable to locate their gear, the group goes on a rampage investigating as best they can. During this commotion security tries to intervene with the group, which only causes more issues. Having enough security and management have the Boggles return the missing gear to the group and are escorted out of the Carnival. Now finding themselves on a road south of the city of Kretia the group has a brief discussion in which Inzuca would like to hand over the evidence taken from Davenmour Manor to Lord Kretia. While this discussion is taking place, a male humanoid slowly approaches the group. This person introduces himself as Raba and provides as much information about himself to help disarm the group. Raba also provides news of a group who maliciously and with great disrespect broke into Lord Siles Davenmour Manor. Without hesitation the group confesses they were the hardened criminals who planned and committed the crime. Passing this off as a joke Raba does not believe the group. The group inform Raba that they are being truthful. As the sun starts to set, Raba mentions the group should make camp, warning the group of bandits in the area.
