Session 13: THE HUD AND THE BARGAIN

General Summary

Making their way deeper into the tunnel the group stop as Benimaru steps out to communicate with the HUD. The four floating creatures in this cave. A small band of Orcs stand off to the side by an unconscious Lord Kretia. The HUD share with Benimaru they do not wish to kill them but enslave them. However, the HUD offer an alternative choice, a trade for the Ettabore stone carried by Rummy Steelmaul. The HUD are willing to offer various things and information such as: where grava's tomb is located, how to gain entry, the vast wealth collected from the city of Kretia, the city itself, the HUD even offer Lord Kretia, who lays unconscious on a stone slab. This makes the Orc chief angry but is silenced by the HUD. Benimaru gains insight into what the HUD plan to do with the stone, and the group decide what they should do. The majority of the group agree handing the stone over would not be the best course, but instead tell the HUD the stone was retrieved from the mines deep within Dur Bal Dume and there is a 50/50 chance a stone could be retrieved from there. Rummy recounts the story of how, where and when he retrieved the stone, the HUD become less rational letting their greed for the stone consume them. Before the HUD depart, they leave a small backpack for Benimaru, inside is a more evolved squid like creature. The group depart with Lord Kretia, heading back into the tunnel to the farmhouse. As the group approach the large hole in the floor, a strong smell of vinegar and eggs. Most the group pass this off as the smell of Tumik and his rats or maybe Harrak. Once exiting the farmhouse, the group is ambushed by strange hounds that spit acid and explode when coming into contact with fire. As the group are dealing with Saurehunds, a number of cultists emerge from the fields. The attacking creatures seem to have surrounded the group, as the cultist try to grapple each member of the group. With a flash of light, the group is teleported away from the farm fields. The smell of vinegar and eggs, acid burning their sense of smell. Making it difficult to breathe. The sound of bubbling liquid all around the group.
