Evocation

Evocation, meaning "to call forth", is a school of magic that deals with exactly that. Spells of this particular nature will draw upon the arcane energy within the weave to produce marvelous and devastating effects, such as beams of light, massive balls of flame, or even meteors from the sky. It would be terrible to only attribute this school to the more destructive forms of casting, as it can also produce protective and restorative effects via the magical energies it invokes.

Practitioners of the evocation school are called "Invokers" or "Evokers" and are considered some of the most adept spellcasters. Over time, if they hone their strength and proficiency in this school, they can redefine what their spells mean, able to maneuver massive explosions around allies, or cause lower level spells to always have at least a grazing effect against their foes. After some time, the strength of their mind will cause their spells to deal even higher damage, eventually rising to the point that an evoker can channel the full force of their spells with a mere thought, although attempting to do this multiple times can come at a grave cost to the caster.

Notable spells of the Evocation School include "Fireball", which is fairly self-explanatory in nature, bringing about a roaring explosion to engulf foes, "Contingency", a spell that will call a lesser spell into effect when a designated condition is fufilled, and "Tiny Hut", a spell that calls into being an impenetrable force field for creatures to rest in for a short time.
