Blunt Device

Blunting collars, bombs, barriers, and generators; all of these are able to exist thanks to the aid of living blunts. Functioning by mimicking the special aura put out by blunts, these devices are able to fully suppress arcane and psionic forces.
By directly pulling on the threads of the Balance and manipulating them, a device is able to generate a blunting field that doesn't directly touch the device itself, which would negate its function. This makes every blunter a piece of arcanotech, requiring great amounts of energy to sustain. For this reason, collars are clunky and require power cells that must be changed out regularly. The same goes for any sort of shield or barricade. Bombs are meant to interrupt rather than suppress for great periods of time, and when exploded, last only a few seconds. Field generators, the sort used to line military bases, are typically hooked up to a series of dedicated power generators.

Manufacturing

Blunting devices are composed of a casing, a power cell (or more, depending on size), a crystal emitter made of clear quartz, and wiring used to transmit energy to the emitter. This emitter is metaphysically attuned to broadcast a blunting field of a specific shape and radius by an attuner (an arcanist specifically trained in attuning the metaphysical aspects of arcanotech), a process which requires a series of specialized tools that are not easy to produce.

Access & Availability

Rare - Used mainly by militaries and law enforcement, it's tedious for civilians to get their hands on a device, since the chance for misuse is high. The main barrier keeping these devices out of civilian hands is high cost.
