Legacy Library

The Legacy Library is a big, whimsical, and twisty library with many different sections covering all subjects, from everyday topics like cooking to more specialized topics like soul energy handling and forbidden areas with political secrets. The most confidential space is the unwritten or soon-to-be-written books. If someone accesses that area and tries to read one of those books, they will only see blank pages. A new book in that section will always appear as soon as a solidified idea has formed within an individual's head.

Entries

There are three entries to the Legacy Library. A front entrance and two side entries. The front entrance has a big, wooden double-wing door with carved floral elements. Additionally, it is embellished with gemstones and various metal parts. The two side entries have smaller wooden single-wing doors with discreet floral carvings but without further embellishments. Those side entrance doors are usually locked as they are meant for the librarians, the archive keepers, and the remaining so-called knowledge servants.

Sensory & Appearance

What People will see
Knowledge-seeking people that enter the Legacy Library will see a long wide carpeted corridor leading to a long, decorated reception desk with space for four knowledge servants. Behind the reception desk are wide staircases leading to the first and second floors and the two smaller side entries. On the left and right of the passage are wooden shelves grouped in sections, forming new corridors.
What people will smell
The smell changes depending on the floor the person is on. It is always a combination of paper and ink from the books, scriptures, and scrolls and wood from the shelves and seating areas. The bottom floors sometimes smell stale due to the stagnant air.

Architecture

The library extends across multiple floors above and below ground. It is a two-and-a-half-floor building in an ornamental style with an elongated dome roof in which the last half floor is located and frosted windows to protect and preserve the scriptures, scrolls, and books from direct sunlight. It has at least six stories underground - the number of underground floors can vary depending on the number of unwritten books.
