Draiconian Waste Pensinsula (Dry cone ian)
The Draiconian Waste is a land that was once the birthright of the Draiconians. Located in central Valoreum, this peninsula orignally started out as an archipelago of continental islands. Due to a combination of being sheltered by the Dividing Ocean and a large amount of volcanism, this peninsula was formed. With a Volcano (known as Sahrotyolos) at its center, the Draiconian Waste is covered in a vast, dense coniferous jungle and craggy outcrops, remnants of both the War with the Eldritch Titans and the extinct volcanoes that formed this region. Like the rest of Valoreum, it is home to a plethora of dinosaurs and other prehistoric species from their time.
Ecosystem
Due to its equatorial location, the Draiconian Waste is warm and wet, experiencing little in the change of weather. It does have a distinct wet and dry season, but possesses little in a change of seasons, mainly due to the majority of trees being gymnosperms.
Localized Phenomena
Due to the elemental attunement of the land, Fire magic works way too well here, and as such if the Sahrot'yolos blows its top, the entire land can become a sea of flame, hence the name "Draiconian Waste". In recorded history, this happens maybe once every 3-500 years. Any Fire-based magic here will set the ground ablaze.
Fauna & Flora
The Flora and Fauna of the Draiconian Waste resembles North America and Western Europe during the Late Jurassic - Early Cretaceous. Notable species within this region include dinosaurs such as Allosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Utahraptor, Brachiosaurus, Camarasaurus, Gastonia, Stegosaurus, Dryosaurus, Iguanacollosus, Psittacosaurus, and Archaeopteryx. Other notable species include Pterosaurs such as Rhamphorhynchus and Pterodactylus, Sarcopterygians like Liopleurodon, Ichthyosaurs like Ophthalmosaurus, Crocodilomorphs like the ocean-dwelling Geosaurus, and sharks like Hybodus. Some Mythical and Legendary creatures also call this place home, like Phoenix, Draconodonts, Drakes, the adorable Geekrut (lizard with bioluminescent qualities), Tarrasque, and the Valorian Hydra. Flora generally consists of Cycads, Bennettales, Pines and other Gymnosperms, and Ferns.
Natural Resources
The Draiconian Waste is full of natural resources, from wood, to ore, crystal, and stone. The most notable of these is probably the wood of Pinus lignumarquus, known as The Rainbowwood Pine or the Pine-acle of Creation for those who enjoy puns. Of ore, ebonite, elementine, and bindium are in great supply, but the greatest ore that can be found here is raw Ainumitium. Found in a small amount across Evenea, Ainumitium is generally known as living metal, able to mold itself to its wielder's will. The presence of vast quantiities of Ainumitium in Valoreum is directly tied to the Fall of Valoreum, when the Diiv'anne fought the Eldritch Titans with weapons made of the stuff. Other minerals that are in great supply in this region include opals, obsidian, volcanic crystals such as Peridot, Ku'uh crystals, and Basalt.
