Crowned only five years ago, the new King struggled to claim the throne in the face of dire competition from Hermand le Sévère, Chapter Master of the Severe Templars. Thibault prevailed by only a single vote. Even though he has a good reputation among the people, he has had to deal with many disruptions in the kingdom, not the least of which is the reluctance of the other Knight Chapters. These travails would have been enough alone, without the recent events of the Dark Elf Curse.
